Mission Titanic documents the first manned dives to Titanic in nearly 15 years. A team of experts use a specially equipped sub to capture the first ever 4K footage of the ship to analyse its rate of decay. They build the most accurate model of the wreck in existence to shed new light on Titanic's iconic stories. They verify a previously unidentified part of the wreck and leave an experimental platform on the seafloor to predict Titanic's future.The team of world-renowned experts and scientists examined the remains of Titanic, capturing for the first time extraordinary native 4K footage using specially adapted cameras to produce imagery of the Titanic wreck in a way never seen before. Using the submersible camera systems, the team performed dedicated photogrammetry on the wreck, allowing highly accurate, photo-real 3D models of RMS Titanic to be produced.The 2019 expedition received world-wide news coverage last year when the initial results of the dives were announced. The film reveals the collapse of ship's captain Edward John Smith's cabin, and the disappearance of his iconic bathtub, as well as the destruction of the critical Marconi radio room. The team follows Sindbad Rumney-Guggenheim's, search for the state-rooms of his great-great-grandfather, Benjamin Guggenheim, one of the richest passengers on the boat. Guggenheim didn't leave the sinking ship, and instead dressed up in his best and went down like a gentleman.Finally, data from the dives to the wreck is analysed by Lori Johnston, who assesses the fragile wreck which is being destroyed by the combination of strong currents and metal eating bacteria.
